The old app installers used to onboard Kaiterra sensors were awful. It took 5 minutes to onboard one device. Users were so confused that they went to Youtube to look for a tutorial. Furthermore, there was a new product called SensedgeGo, which was vital to the company's future. This new device required a gateway setup that the old app could not support. To meet the product launch timeline, we needed to remake the mobile app application, update the UI to the new design system, and drastically improve the UX. Problem
Over 3 months, our team redesigned the mobile application from the ground up. We met the deadline for the launch of Kaiterra's new device, the SensedgeGo. Our new onboarding experience reduced the setup time for a device from 5 minutes to 20 seconds. It was so efficient and effective that the CEO made a series of LinkedIn videos showcasing the setup speed and its features.
Outcome
Over the course of three months, our team completely redesigned the mobile application from the ground up. We successfully delivered the new app in time for the launch of Kaiterra’s latest device, the Sensedge Go. The redesigned onboarding experience reduced device setup time from approximately five minutes in the legacy app to under 20 seconds, dramatically improving usability. The final product met all stakeholder expectations, with a polished UI/UX that was fully aligned with Kaiterra’s refreshed brand and web platform.
